Our DiAmond Aftercare group offers a confidential place for ongoing support after counselling. Domestic abuse can be isolating and creates various ongoing challenges for survivors. This is why we offer a safe space to share experiences, feelings, and mutual support on this journey.
At our online sessions (via Teams) you will be welcomed by Diane and Demi who help members to listen and support each other. You can also take part in a range of activities suggested by the group. Come along and try something new from crafts to poetry to yoga – great for improving your sense of wellbeing.
- There is no expectation for you to speak within the group if you don’t feel comfortable with this, but we think that you will be surprised how the group process can help.
- Drop-in 1-2-1 sessions are also available to group members when you feel may need extra support.
Virtual sessions take place fortnightly on a Thursday via Teams – 10:00am – 11:30am or 13:00pm – 14:30pm
To join the EYC group, speak to your counsellor or contact Laura (Aftercare Lead): laura.seddon@listening-ear.co.uk
- I feel it is a life line because if things are going bad you can reach out to others for their guidance and have more one to one counselling if needed. Without the group I would feel I was in my own with it all because others do not understand or believe me.
- I think it is useful to hear others experiences so that you see similarities of behaviour to reinforce your own understanding of abuse
