We are delighted to announce that Katarina Johnson-Thompson (KJT) has joined Listening Ear as our first Charity Ambassador.

Fans of BBC Sports Personality of the Year contender KJT can help boost Listening Ear’s coffers too.

Listening Ear and KJT have teamed up to give fans access to signed autograph cards by means of a small donation through our website. For a minimum donation of £3 each fan will receive a signed autograph card from KJT and simultaneously provide vital support for us, with all profits going to Listening Ear.  Visit www.listening-ear.co.uk/kjt for your own card.

KJT, who hails from Woolton, Liverpool, is a proud supporter of the work that Listening Ear does to help children, young people and adults cope with loss, separation and bereavement.

She said: “I know that Listening Ear has played a huge part in helping so many people through difficult times by providing counselling and support at critical times in their lives. It’s an absolute pleasure to be able to support this work by becoming their Ambassador.”

KJT confirmed herself as the world’s leading multi eventer in 2019 by taking the World Championship title in Doha and breaking the British Heptathlon record at the same time.

This weekend, gold medal winner KJT is in contention to be named BBC Sports Personality of the Year, and everyone at Listening Ear is crossing their fingers that she’ll win.

Listening Ear CEO Richard Brown said: “It’s great to welcome KJT as our first ever Charity Ambassador and we really hope she does well in the BBC Sports Personality of the Year.  Last year, we supported more than 2,000 children, young people and adults through the distress of bereavement and separation. We have also developed Amparo – a new service to support people who have been bereaved by suicide.

“We look forward to working with Katarina in the months and years ahead as we seek to help more people in more places.”
