Our helplines are available to anyone aged 18+ living in Rotherham or Halton, affected by a bereavement.
Our helplines are here to support you following a bereavement. The service is free of charge and is provided in partnership with Halton Borough Council and Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council.
The services available include:
- Access to the bereavement support helpline, which provides practical and emotional support and signposting to other appropriate organisations.
- Access to the local ‘Friendship After Bereavement’ (FAB) group, which offers friendship and support following a bereavement. Find out more about the group here.
Sessions consist of an initial assessment, typically followed by 6 1:1 telephone support sessions.
Helpline support is provided by a team of bereavement helpline support workers, and sessions are usually held by appointment once a week.
The service is available from 10am to 5pm Monday to Friday and can be accessed using a freephone number 0800 048 5224 or by making an online referral here.
*Please note, this is not a counselling service, and will provide emotional support and signposting only. This service is available for adults aged 18+ only*
