DiAmond Domestic Abuse Counselling

DiAmond is Listening Ear’s specialist counselling service for adults, children and young people affected by domestic abuse.

We provide trauma-informed counselling and emotional support to help individuals navigate the impact of abuse, rebuild confidence, and move forward safely.. Support is tailored to the individual and delivered by experienced, qualified counsellors working within Listening Ear’s BACP Accredited counselling service.

Since launching in 2012, DiAmond has supported thousands of adults, children and young people experiencing the effects of domestic abuse. The service continues to evolve in response to feedback from the people who use it, helping us ensure support remains accessible, effective and responsive to local need.

Who Can Access Support?

DiAmond supports people who may be:

  • Currently experiencing domestic abuse
  • Recovering from a recent abusive relationship
  • Living with the impact of historic abuse
  • Struggling with the emotional effects of coercive control, intimidation, violence, manipulation or trauma

We understand that domestic abuse can affect every aspect of a person’s wellbeing, including confidence, relationships, mental health and sense of safety.

What we do

  • Support for Adults
    Support for Adults

    • Adults can access one-to-one counselling delivered by experienced practitioners who understand the impact domestic abuse can have on emotional wellbeing and recovery.
    • Support focuses on helping individuals process their experiences, develop coping strategies, rebuild confidence and work towards longer-term recovery.
    • Counselling may be available face-to-face, online or by telephone depending on local arrangements and individual circumstances.

    Support for Children & Young People

    • DiAmond provides one-to-one counselling for children and young people in schools, colleges, community venues, online and by telephone.
    • We recognise that children and young people experience domestic abuse differently and use age-appropriate therapeutic approaches tailored to their needs.
  • Aftercare & Ongoing Support
    Aftercare & Ongoing Support

    • Recovery does not always end when counselling ends.
    • Our DiAmond Aftercare Group provides a safe, confidential space where people can continue their recovery journey alongside others who have shared similar experiences.
