Listening Ear is gearing up to use outdoor therapy as a new way to enagage with clients of all ages.

All counsellors and therapists working with Listening Ear and our Amparo service have been offered a full day’s training as an introduction to Outdoor Therapy.  The first five participants joined organiser Darren Wilson at Pex Hill Nature Reserve near Cronton on 16 April, to gain an overview of how the natural environment can offer opportunities for therapeutic work.

The training aims to encourage therapists to increase their confidence in working outdoors with clients (both individuals and groups) and to consider how their ways of working can be successfully integrated into an outdoor setting.

The feedback from the first sessions was extremely positive. “Pex Hill is a fantastic location to deliver this training, and we’re looking forward to starting to use outdoor therapy within Listening Ear,” Darren said.
