Listening Ear launched its 2.6 Challenge at the beginning of May 2020, aiming to raise £2,600 from sponsored activities all based around the number 2.6 or 26.  From painting to breadmaking, walking or running, staff and supporters have come up with their own way of raising money to help our work with children, young people and adults who have been bereaved during the coronavirus pandemic.

Megan Brady recently completed a 2.6 mile walk along Green Lane, and on Sunday 31 May Andy Mahoney and his friend Luke Williams will be running 26k to raise further funds.  The Challenges are inspired by Listening Ear’s Charity Ambassador, Katarina Johnson-Thompson, who completed her own Challenge and raised £2,000 for us.

The response has been fantastic, with almost £900 raised already and sponsorship pledges totalling £1500 being made.

“This extra resource will make a difference at what is a difficult time for charities, when so many other fundraising opportunities have been cancelled due to Covid-19,” said Richard Brown, Listening Ear’s CEO.
