Our Amparo Aftercare group offers a safe and confidential place for ongoing support once you’ve finished your time with your Suicide Liaison Worker.

You’ll be welcomed by experienced group facilitators who help members to listen and support each other.

Group activities range from crafts to poetry to yoga – great for improving your sense of wellbeing.

  • You will never be forced to speak within the group if you don’t feel comfortable with this, but we think that you will be surprised how the group process can help.
  • Open to anyone who has received support from Amparo (or other providers) after being bereaved or affected by suicide.
  • Clients can access 2 sessions of counselling whist attending the group with either Pauline or Allan. Sessions can be booked at a mutually agreed time.

Virtual sessions take place every two weeks on a Wednesday via Microsoft Teams – 5:45-7:15pm

To join the EYC group, speak to your counsellor or contact Laura (Aftercare Lead): 0151 4886648

  • "The group has been invaluable to me. I feel like the therapists really care and I take something away with me from every meeting. Having people in the group who are going through similar experiences, allows us to talk openly and we support each other. I think the kindness and understanding we have and show to eachother has enabled me to start being a bit kinder to myself."
  • "This group has been a real lifeline for me. It gives me a safe space to share, without worrying. I am met with understanding and positive suggestions and support from the excellent counsellors and the friends I have made within the group. Knowing that we have all suffered a loss under the same circumstances really helps as I don't have anywhere else where I can discuss the extra feelings that are attached to suicide. I honestly cannot thank this incredible charity and the counsellors enough."
