Telephone enquiries are via voicemail – these are automatically sent to our DiAmond support team. Your enquiry will be responded to within 24 hours or by the next working day

A whole-family telephone assessment or an in-person assessment will be held with the parent/ carer. For in-person assessments, these will be held at an agreed, accessible and safe location for the family.

CYP will be consulted as part of the assessment process at their 1st therapy appointment.

Contacting Your Therapist

Once therapy begins, the referrer and parent/carer (where appropriate) will be given the therapist’s work mobile number. Therapists can be contacted during their agreed working hours, which will be shared at the start of support. As therapists are often in sessions, they may not be able to answer calls immediately.

The Listening Ear office can be contacted Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm (excluding Bank Holidays), for general enquiries and support relating to the Warwickshire Domestic Violence and Abuse (WDVA) Service.

What Support Will I Receive?

Clients will initially be offered up to ten counselling sessions. If additional support is needed, this can be reviewed and discussed with the therapist and their Team Leader to ensure the right level of support is available.

Where Will Sessions Take Place?

For children and young people, sessions will usually take place within school settings. For adults, support may be delivered face-to-face or remotely, depending on individual needs and preferences.

Where appropriate, sessions may also be offered within refuge accommodation or other suitable community venues. These may include community centres, libraries, colleges, universities, faith venues, NHS Open Spaces, crisis cafés, GP practices and other local support settings.

Listening Ear will always ensure that therapy takes place in a safe, confidential and appropriate environment.

Whole Family Support

In some cases, it may be beneficial for children and their parent or carer to participate in sessions together. A whole-family approach can be offered where this is identified as appropriate through assessment and individual need.

At End of Therapy, CYP can be invited to join LE’s virtual Emotional Youth Club (EYC) sessions. Adult clients can be invited to attend LE’s virtual After Counselling Ends (ACE) sessions.
