Our Safeguarding Lead, James, recently had the pleasure of visiting Lapland UK on behalf of Listening Ear to collect a generous donation of Christmas stockings. Alongside other charities, he was warmly welcomed by the founders, Mike and Alison Battle, who kindly gave him a guided tour of the event.

He walked through the incredible sets while Mike and Alison shared how each area was brought to life. From corridors lined with twinkling lights and winter trees to themed spaces that felt straight out of a festive storybook, the attention to detail was magical.

What really stood out though, was the heart behind Lapland UK. Mike and Alison created this magical world to celebrate the fleeting wonder of childhood belief at Christmas. Through the Lapland Foundation, they extend that magic beyond the event, supporting children and young people who need it most with gifts, grants, and donations.

We’re so grateful to Mike and Alison for their generosity and for making sure the spirit of Christmas reaches families experiencing even the most difficult of circumstances. It was an unforgettable visit filled with festive cheer and kindness.
