We are delighted that David Brodie has selected Listening Ear as his chosen Charity to support.  David is running a marathon with a difference in Tromso, Norway.

“Back in 2014, Listening Ear provided some wonderful and much needed support to my son Nate when his mum (my wife, Gillian) was diagnosed with bowel cancer. Thankfully our story had a happy ending; Gillian fully recovered and has been in remission for several years now, but I’ve always wanted to find a way to pay back the invaluable kindness and emotional support we received. It truly made all the difference knowing that our then 6 year-old son had someone to talk to who could help him manage and understand his emotions.

I started running a few years ago and this June (a year later than planned, thanks to Covid) I’m going to run the Midnight Sun Marathon, in Tromso, Norway – 350km inside the arctic circle – to raise funds for this fantastic charity that’s close to my heart.

They’re not a huge organisation, so anything you can spare can really make a big difference. It’ll also help spur me on through the hours of training and the pain of those last few miles before the finish.”
